Welcome To Myo GEAUX

When I’m not working with patients, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our three children, exploring Louisiana life, and continuing to learn about the latest advancements in airway and myofunctional health.

Jaime Ruiz, RDH-Founder of Myo Geaux

Hi, I’m Jaime Ruiz — a Registered Dental Hygienist with over six years of experience in dental care and specialized training in Myofunctional Therapy. I’m originally from the suburbs of Chicago and proudly served in the U.S. Navy before pursuing my career in dentistry.

My journey into myofunctional therapy began on a very personal note. When my daughter was born with a tongue tie, I wanted to understand how I could best support her health and development. That experience sparked my passion for helping others discover the connection between oral function, breathing, sleep, and overall well-being.

At Myo Geaux, my mission is to empower patients to achieve healthier smiles, better sleep, and balanced function through individualized care and education. As both a clinician and a mom, I truly understand how small changes in oral habits can make a lasting difference in quality of life.

Services We Provide

Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy

Our personalized therapy programs focus on retraining the muscles of the face, mouth, and tongue to work in harmony. By improving muscle balance, swallowing patterns, and tongue posture, we help enhance speech, breathing, and overall oral function.

Habit Elimination (Thumb Sucking, Tongue Thrust)

We offer gentle and supportive techniques to help children and adults eliminate oral habits that can affect dental development and function. Our programs focus on awareness, positive reinforcement, and muscle retraining to replace harmful habits with healthy patterns.

Breathing & Sleep

Support

Proper breathing is essential for optimal health and restful sleep. We address mouth breathing, snoring, and poor sleep quality through exercises that encourage nasal breathing and strengthen airway function.

Post-Orthodontic

Therapy

After braces or aligner treatment, maintaining proper muscle function is key to long-term results. Our therapy helps stabilize orthodontic outcomes by ensuring correct tongue posture, breathing habits, and swallowing mechanics.
